November 2003 - PCS UtiliData's AdaptiVolt™ technology was featured in the November 2003 issue of Rural Electric Magazine, as one of the "ten technologies that will change the way electric utilities do business in 2004."


November 17, 2003  - The November 2003 issue of Managing Automation features a letter to the editor by Tom Wilson, president of PCS UtiliData, written in response to an earlier article about the August blackout.


November 12, 2003 - PCS UtiliData announces results from a year-long test of its AdaptiVolt™ system at Inland Power & Light Company in Spokane, Washington.


November 12, 2003 - PCS UtiliData was one of the six companies invited to take part in the "Poised for Profit II: Smart Energy" press conference in Seattle, Washington. The companies present at this event were selected to represent the Pacific Northwest corridor, which encompasses the states of Washington and Oregon, as well as the province of British Columbia.

Smart Energy is defined as using digital technology to make electricity generation, transmission, distribution and use more reliable and efficient. PCS UtiliData exhibited its AdaptiVolt™. The AdaptiVolt™ system technology has been deployed operationally with great success as an energy conservation method that yields the most value for money while protecting the environment and affording the best capacity building capability in the market place today

A Smart Energy: Economic Opportunities for the Northwest" public forum and panel was also held in Portland, Oregon on November 13, 2003. These events were sponsored in part by the Bonneville Power Administration, the Smart Energy Business Alliance, Climate Solutions, the Portland Business Alliance, the City of Seattle Office of Economic Development and the Athena Institute.


November 4, 2003 - PCS UtiliData deploys its AdaptiVolt™ system at Avista Utilities.


October 30, 2003 - AdaptiVolt™ is featured in the EDA's (Electricity Distributor's Association of Ontario), "The Distributor," as one of several Demand Side Management technologies that could potentially help Ontario meet its electricity demand. 


October 16, 2003 - Tom Wilson, PCS UtiliData's president, will be participating in a DistribuTECH panel discussion entitled, "Raising the Bar for Volt and VAr: Experiences in Centralized Volt/VAr Control," on January 21,  2004 at 3:00 PM.  The panel will be moderated by Nokhum Markushevich of UCI.  Other presenters will be Wally Pitts of RCCS, Daniel Goodrich of SRP, and Don Gilbert P.E. of JEA.  Tom will be discussing AdaptiVolt™ and his paper, "Demand Side Management and Energy Conservation Using Distribution Automation Technologies."


August 27, 2003 - In the August 2003 issue of Control Magazine, Dan Hebert, P.E. looks at the licensing of control system integrators in an article entitled, "Should System Integrators Be Licensed."


June 20, 2003 - Everett Naval Station (the home port of the USS Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier), PCS UtiliData engineering staff have begun the AdaptiVolt™ Survey and the Communication Propagation Survey of the Everett Naval Station. This consists of the first phase which prepares the deployment of AdaptiVolt™ system technology.


May 2003 - A PCS UtiliData Graphic User Interface (GUI) developed for the Cooper Form 6 Re-closers at Clatskanie PUD is featured in the in the May issue of Cooper Power's publication, The Line.


May 9, 2003 - Flathead Electric Cooperative awarded PCS UtiliData with a contract to integrate two substations into their existing SCADA system.


April 4, 2003 - The 2003 Western Protective Delivery Automation Conference was a huge success.

Art Robare, Operations and Engineering Superintendent of Clatskanie PUD, presented a paper co-authored with Thomas Wilson, PCS UtiliData President, entitled, Clatskanie People’s Utility District – SCADA System. The paper discusses the UtiliData® SCADA system recently installed at the PUD.

James Michaelis, PE, one of PCS UtiliData’s senior engineers presented a paper entitled, CCVT Monitoring with Remote Diagnostics.


January 24, 2003 - The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance approved a 2.8 million dollar project for implementing and testing Conservation Voltage Regulation in the Pacific Northwest.
